Aminah Yusuf, PhD, MS, MBA, LMSW

Aminah Yusuf, PhD, MS, MBA, LMSW, is a licensed social worker and clinical substance abuse counselor at Integrated Health & Wellness Service in Wilmington, Delaware. She has over 40 years of experience in her field.

 

Aminah graduated with her bachelor's in communication studies from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Her career began with mentoring college students with cultural transition issues when she worked with children in Philadelphia, working as a supervisor in group homes, and then moving on to a residential treatment center for youth. She then transitioned to working with children in foster care. She then moved to New Jersey, where she worked with youth and their families who were wrestling with addiction and other mental health issues. At this time, she focused on addiction counseling for youth and adults in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Aminah started providing services in a prison-based treatment program as a counselor and was then promoted to unit director. During her time in the court system, she began pursuing further education, completing her Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from American InterContinental University in Illinois in 2006. She later completed her Master of Science in psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2010. She also completed coursework in Sports Psychology. Shortly after, Aminah went to work in the intensive treatment modality – in-home therapy, providing counseling for youth and their families as a counselor at Where Kids Thrive LLC. 

After moving to Delaware, Aminah began working with federally funded healthcare centers as a substance abuse and mental health counselor. 

Amiinah has continued to seek professional training in nurtured heart, trauma-informed play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, and various other forms of therapy.
